Message from the President of the Azerbaijan tunneling Association
Azerbaijan Tunnelling Association (AzTA) is pleased to invite you to join the Baku International Congress «Tunnelling and Underground Infrastructure in Urban Areas» in Azerbaijan from 10th to 11th September 2012.
This event is organized by the Azerbaijan Tunnelling Association (AzTA) under the auspices of the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) and of partnership French Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (AFTES). Azerbaijan and other new states have a lot of major infrastructure projects including the construction of great underground structures for the coming years. We intend to organize this conference which will provide the opportunity to present all these new projects of urbanization, the prospects of tunnels and underground structures in the region. With in this context other topics such as security, new methods of operation and construction, technical innovation in the implementation of the underground structures in urban areas will also be discussed.
Dear colleagues, we are pleased to provide the opportunity to discover the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a country of warm friendly eastern hospitality. The country located on the crossroads of key economic and cultural ways of Eurasia and Baku is a bridge linking the East with the West. Baku plays a key role as one of the largest political and economic centre of the Caucasian region.
